Firefly Help

In Firefly your job is to catch and then release little glowing fireflies. The trick is that you can't just catch any ol' firelies, they have to form a special trio of fireflies. A trio is made of up of three fireflies that are similar or different in how they look. Fireflies have a color, a direction, and a blink pattern, so a trio of fireflies must have all the same or different color, all the same or different direction, and all the same or different blink pattern. Here is a good trio:

Each firefly is the same color, the same blink pattern, but different directions. Here is another good trio:

Each firely is the a different color, the same direction, and the same blink pattern . Here is an example of a bad trio:

This is a bad trio because while they all have different colors and all are pointing the same direction, the red and blue fireflies are blinking fast but the yellow one is blinking more slowly. Remember - the rule is a good trio has each attribute all the same or all different.

Options

The first screen you will see is the options screen. From this screen you can add players, set the number of firefly trios need to catch/release for a round, and set if the game should be hard. In hard mode the fireflies are always flying around the screen instead of staying in place. When you click the New game button you will start a game of Firefly with the selected options. If you click Same game then you will replay the last game (all the fireflies will come out in the same order) - this is great for playing against your friends or just trying to beat your own times! You can play the same game as many times as you want with as many players as you want.

Playing

Playing Firefly couldn't be easier! Just grab a firefly with your finger and drag it into the jar. After you drop the third firefly into the jar you'll hear a nice chime if it is a good trio or a buzzer if it is a bad trio. When you catch a good trio they will all fly off together and three new ones will fly onto the screen. If you catch a bad trio then they will fly out of the jar and back onto the screen - and keep flying around as your penalty! If you drag a firefly into the jar and change your mind about using it for a trio just drag it back out again.

If you need to pause your game just double tap with your finger on any empty part of the play screen. You'll see a little dialog box with options to Quit, More Fireflies, and Resume. Quit will quit your game and your score won't be recorded while Resume will continue your game. More Fireflies is an option you can use to add 3 more fireflies to the screen, but you should only use this if you don't think there are any good trios that can be formed from the firelies already on the screen. If you are right about there being no good trios available you will have 30 seconds removed from your time as a bonus. If you are wrong you will have 45 seconds added to your time - so be sure!

The play screen shows your name in the lower left corner and your current game time next to that. Above the game time is the remaining number of firefly trios you must find.

Registration

Until you buy Firefly and register your copy you can only enjoy Firefly for 3 days. But at only $0.99 you'll get a lot of fun for very little money!

After buying Firefly you will receive an email asking for your Android id. You can find this by using the Menu option Registration from the options screen. The id is shown at the top of the resulting dialog box. Once you send in your id we will send you a registration key that you enter in this box. After that you are all set to enjoy all Firefly has to offer!
